OpenELEC Testbuilds for RaspberryPi (Kodi 15.0) Part 2
(2015-06-20, 14:53)graealex Wrote: I'm using a Hifiberry-Digi+ w/ transformer on my Pi2, and it works with optical and SPDIF output, including AC3 and DTS passthrough. Maybe I can help?
Thanks, this is with kernel 4.1.0-rc8? Surprised it's working for the Digi+ but not the Digi, as they're based on similar (WM8804) hardware aren't they? What are your device tree config.txt options?

(2015-06-20, 14:53)graealex Wrote: @Milhouse: any way to have an option to disable 3D-FP output alltogether for devices that don't play along well, so it reverts back to the "old" behavior of just outputting SBS or TAB without any frame packing?

I'll have to leave that one to @popcornmix to answer!
Texture Cache Maintenance Utility: Preload your texture cache for optimal UI performance. Remotely manage media libraries. Purge unused artwork to free up space. Find missing media. Configurable QA check to highlight metadata issues. Aid in diagnosis of library and cache related problems.
(2015-06-18, 22:39)Milhouse Wrote: I'm including the latest libshairplay/AirTunes commits - requested here - which I had been told were working well.

You'll need to determine the last test build that has working Airplay (or AirTunes, whatever - I don't use Apple gear).

Update: Still doesn't work on #0619. Plays the first two seconds, even shows the visualization for a brief moment, then switches back to the usual GUI (I'm using Eminence) and audio playback is halted. In multi-device constellation, all players halt audio playback if the #0619 device is included in the list of devices to stream to. Same with #0615. Still, thanks for including the commits. I'm confident it will at some point get sorted out. After all, these are development builds, not official releases. I'll try to put a debug file up from my player when I have a bit more time - never extracted one from the Pi yet. Maybe this will give some insight what's going wrong.

Sry, i should have been more specific, i also use the Digi+ on my Pi2. But as far as i know they use the same hardware (WM8804) and you also add the same dtoverlay (hifiberry-digi for both, see Configuring the sound card in OpenElec (5.0.2 or higher) with device-tree-overlays) to the config.txt.

I think this problem will only ever get really resolved for output devices that support the full range of 3D resolutions and frame rates, like brand new 3D TVs and the like. My projector isn't just capable of receiving a full 1080p/60Hz FP video stream, only:

Have you disabled full frame 3D modes in video/acceleration settings?

Code:
dtoverlay=hifiberry-digi
dtdebug=1

Kernel tested is 4.0.5 #1 SMP on #0615 and 4.1.0-rc8 #1 SMP on #0619. Both kernels and Kodi builds work with the Hifiberry-Digi+ w/ Stereo and AC3/DTS passthrough.

Yes, I'm on #0619:

No hdmi_force_edid_3d=1 in config.txt
Video -> Acceleration -> OMXPlayer = off
Video -> Acceleration -> MMAL = on
Video -> Acceleration -> Support MVC video (full frame 3D) = off
Video -> Acceleration -> Use Full HD HDMI modes for 3D = grayed out and off

Filenames are:
R.I.P.D.3D.2013.1080p.BluRay.3D.HSBS.DTS.x264.mkv
R.I.P.D.3D.2013.1080p.BluRay.3D.HTAB.DTS.x264.mkv

Both files are 1920x1080@24fps with SBS/TAB directly encoded in the video. On start, Kodi asks for preferred 3D mode, no matter what I choose, I get the video in 2D (so it actually takes one half and stretches to fit the whole screen), and the GUI appears in SBS/TAB accordingly to the selection. Very frustrating.

And the same configuration with #0618 works without a problem?

Yes, i'm back on 618 and all ist fine. But the unit is now playing movies for the familiy and i can't stop it now to test without OC.

Could it be as simple as the filename having 3d twice and Kodi is only reading the first instance of 3d?

Using #0620, 20-Jun-2015:with pi2 (non overclocked). using standard skin, confluence

With some movies, its just a super lag party (a.k.a buffering ) It can be 720 to 1080p

I did not get these results with 14.2

Yes yes yes. Finally this long standing bug that crashed Kodi Isengard on all platforms whenever the TvHeadend EPG was activated has finally bit the dust.
TvHeadend users will be happy. Thanks Smile

Your log is incomplete, also it is not a debug log (wiki).

Please go back through the test builds and identify when this problem started. If you are using WiFi, try wired.

Can you post a debug log (wiki) when showing a 3D video being played.
(2015-06-20, 10:32)Catscrash Wrote: Hi,

I'm having a hard time watching simple Half-SBS Videos with the new build. It only displays one side of it on the whole screen now. When Support MVC and Full HD 3d Option are disabled, it seems to only display one half in 2D, although it renders the interface in 3d. When it's enabled, it seems to try to create a 3D FP output, but that doesn't really work, the projector recognizes a FP signal, but it's not 3D. It's just... blurred.

The file is named ...3D.SBS.... and works flawlessly with kodi 14

Real MVC MKVs work fine btw, but only if I rename them to ...3D.SBS..., they don't work with ...3D.MVC... or ...3D.FP...

Thanks for help

my problems actually have been fixed by updating my projectors firmware (more supported 3d modes and edid fix I guess) and a reboot of openelec. Everything is workin as intended now, all I have to do, is switch on and off the full HD 3d output when watching MVC MKVs or SBS MKVs

Hi,
Thanks for your reply.

Correct link is:
http://xbmclogs.com/pcqmu0htx its from 18:22 when I'm starting the movie Taken 3.

Just after 2-3 seconds, the movie started buffering. About 20 seconds later, a new buffering.
Memory used is about 680mb / 750, could that be a cause?

I'm connected with wire gigabit cable (and router).
