24p playback casuing tearing
#1
Hi Guys,

Thought I'd take the plunge and install Kodi for Windows (7) on a Dell Latitude E6400 Notebook that has been acting as a media center connected to my 50" Panasonic Plasma via HDMi.

So installed latest Nightly build of Kodi and started to test a few 1080p MKVs I had. Everything on normal settigns worked fine, playback was smooth however I wanted to try and get 24p working correctly as I hate the judder that happens in fast moving scenes when you run a 24p movie on 60hz.

Within the Video settigns of Kodi I have "Adjust displayed refresh rate to video" and "Sync Playback to display". I've also checked the Nvida Control panel to make sure V-Sync is turned on.

However, the movie plays at 1080p/24p but I can getting a noticeable tear 3/4 of the way down on the image during playback.

is there anyway to fix this problem?

Hmm, I'd turn off v-sync in the control panel and let Kodi all aspects of video playback. You've enabled the correct options within Kodi, are you absolutely certain your panel supports 23.976 and 24.000 fps?
Please read the online manual (wiki) & FAQ (wiki) before posting.

100% certain it supports 1080/24p as i've been playing Blu ray disc though a designated player at 1080p/24p as well as a TViX box which to also plays content back at 24p.

Uncheck use a fullscreen window in Video settings.

Will check and give it a go. Thanks for replying.
