I've recently updated my iOS app to include an Apple Watch app.
The Watch app has remote control functions & the ability to play or queue recently added TV Shows or Movies, it also has a Watch Glance to view now playing information.

The main iOS app has 4 widgets for iOS 8, remote controls including +/- 30s, navigation controls, now playing info and playing or queuing of recently added tv or movies.
I separated each function into a its own widgets, so you can add only the functions you need, without using up space in NC
I hope you like it, I made i for my self, I only use my iPhone to control Kodi, and I wanted a way to quickly controlling it without having to open an app.
My favourite part is +/- 30s skip, I often miss bits and want to go back, now I just flick down NC and skip back
and I can't believe how amazing it is to flick down Notifications Centre and play the most recently added TV show.
