Is this possible, either as an addon or part of the main code? Here is the instructions from google:

This feature would put media from Kodi on the recommendations bar of an android tv device, like the google nexus player. Some initial thoughts on the challenges are: Could the artwork /metadata from the kodi repo be used in the recommendations bar? How would android/kodi decide what is recommended content, maybe an "unwatched" playlist for starters?

Great idea, as long as it defaults to a certain profile. I use one profile for kid-friendly content and another profile for... uh... Not kid-friendly. I don't want my entire library on my home screen without any consideration.

I'd also like to see this implemented, I think having the latest TV Shows and Movies added to the library shown would be neat.

I really like Kodi on the Nvidia Shield. But this is a big missing piece.

Implementing a complete set of recommendations might be time consuming. But at the very least if the recently played media could be shown in the recommendations bar, that would be a great addition. The recently added media also could be provided to the recommendation bar. Kodi already has this information readily available. So most of the work would be providing that information to the android recommendation bar.
