Swapping between operative systems
#1
Hello!

I've got 3 oses installed on my SD card. Retropie, Raspbian and Openelec..

I know I can via commandline automatically reboot to a certain OS by typing:
crontab -e
@reboot /usr/bin/sudo su -c 'echo 5 > /sys/module/bcm2708/parameters/reboot_part'

However I want to make it more userfriendly and swap between OS's by using the graphical interface or some sort of hotkey. (so my gf and kids can do it)

Is this doable? Been looking all over the place for such a solution but can't find anything. Thanks in advance!

The NOOBS installer and BerryBoot will both give graphical menus to choose which OS to boot into.

Heya!

Yea I'm aware but it's a really slow and "messy" solution. I want to be able to swap from one os to Another from inside the system itself. I know it can be done when installing kodi from Retropie or installing retropie from inside Kodi.. But this is not the case here.. They are each on it's own seperate partition.

You can't. To switch the entire OS then the Pi must reboot. When Retropie launches Kodi it's just launching Kodi the application and not switching OSes.
