I blame TVDB for that. There's no excuse for that size in 2015. I wish I had the knowledge and skills to create a replacement. Even if it was just for thumbs it would be worth it Wink

it would be nice if there was a way we could not download episode thumbs and instead rely on kodi generating them. at least then you'd have something that matched the source. bonus points if there was a way to pick your frame instead of just getting a random one.

I'm intrigued by the design and font styles. Very curious to see if this would work without the blurred effect. My gut says yes if you were to use greyscale overlays in its place?

Just tested something yesterday to blur images ( I like to try new things :p ). Managed to get result like image 4 from first post but not more and I think this won't work on low end devices. The idea is to "shake" semi transparent sets of the same picture. Works best by using loop zoom time=0 animations.

+1 for kodi generating thumbs ... Or sshot thumb button.

Slideshow has a DIM setting. This is buried in "screensaver.xbmc.builtin.dim".

Dim != blur.

A lot of the bluring could be done with Phil65's script.toolbox.

I did a quick'n'dirty test on a i5 2400 and it works quite well:

But low powered devices? Err... nope. I don't think so.
Furthermore, this short walk through the widgets generated blurred images with a total size of ~1mb. I assume the addon data folder size will reach huge dimensions after a while, especially for a large database.

Excellent ! Looks really nice. Have to take a look at this script. For how many images you get 1mb ?

Uff... sry, did the test in the office. But each picture was around 20-30kb.

Bello could be a good base for this skin, especially for the home menu I think.

Conq would be a better base for this skin

I just want a skin that will use TV and Movie Logos instead of text where it has them (like Netflix does), or hell, uses logos well at all, so I'm all up for this!
