[Resolved] Black screen on go to Full screen - Mac Mini Yosemite
#1
Hi,
Just upgraded my mac mini to Yosemite
Now when I go to full screen I just get a black screen. I saw some posts mentioning an option to do windowed rather then true full screen but I don't see that option on the display options screen.
Any ideas how to go to get full screen to work?
very easy to reproduce Command-F gives black (and I assume full) screen
Command-F again fixes it.

You can't use true fullscreen. Use windowed fullscreen as described in the wiki.

Thanks but as I mentioned I don't have an option to use windows fullscreen. I would be fine with that solution. Anybody know why I don't have this?

Have you tried setting display mode to fullscreen #1?

Yes of course. That road leads to a black screen...
And for the record it's plugged in and all the wires are connected. Smile
Could it be something HDMI related. It is connected via mini dvi to HDMI.

Here is updated log with debug on: http://pastebin.com/4HbanzSs
Note: I edited out anything related to the scanners but I doubt that is relevant.
Any help with this issue would be appreciated.
BTW Boxee has no problems going full screen

nothinh unusal im the log. Is this an upgrade from osx 10.6.8 by any chance? did you try with a clean setup? (moving the Kodi folder in /Users/<username>/Library/Application Support away)

do you have a different hdmi tv/screen to test?

Starting with a clean setup did the trick - Thanks!
I don't remember exactly what version I had before the upgrade. I think it was Lion.

Memphiz REQUEST that this be made a Sticky at the top of the Mac OSX section of the forum please.

Nearly every second post is related to finding the Application Support folder and renaming then restating Kodi.
Don't you think its about time this very common problem got its own troubleshooting sticky thread ?
It would solve a lot of OSX users problems.

I'm about to start a basic OSX Troubleshooting 101 thread if you want to Sticky that at the top.
