Only audio on certain files, no video playback

Same problem here, it drives me crazy :-(

RPi2, OpenElec 5.95.5, but I had had the same problem on 5.0.8 as well. The affected files work fine on Windows (both with KODI and VLC), and on the Pi with video acceleration turned off. Now I have two totally different TV shows, where about half of the videos have this problem. This is what I've found in the logs:

18:00:27 321.615173 T:1894773824 ERROR: COMXCoreComponent:Big GrinecoderEventHandler OMX.broadcom.video_decode - OMX_ErrorStreamCorrupt, Bitstream corrupt
18:00:27 321.615448 T:1691350080 ERROR: OMXPlayerVideo : Error open video output
18:00:27 321.633484 T:1691350080 ERROR: COMXCoreComponent::FreeInputBuffers WaitForCommand:OMX_CommandPortDisable failed on OMX.broadcom.video_decode omx_err(0x8000100b)

The strangest thing is that I can't find any connection between the files, there are also working and non working files within the same season.

Do you know if somebody works on this? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

P.S.: Both MPEG2 and VC1 are bought and activated.

Post mediainfo of a problematic file.
A sample file would be useful.

Thank you very much for your reply.

Here are two files, 5 minutes extract from a TV series. Episode 10 doesn't work, while episode 8 does.

Thanks for sample. I get the same error. I can say the file is rejected because the codec header bytes appear invalid (when trying to parse them more bytes are required that are present).
Probably a bug in the encoder that other decoders are less strict about, but I've forwarded a report to our codec expert.
We'll see if there's anything we are doing wrong, or whether we could (safely) be less strict if there is a problem with file.

Thank you very much for your work!!!!

Unfortunately the problem appears with Jeremy Brett's Sherlock Holmes and David Suchet's Poirot series, both of them are my grandmother's favourite TV shows and I replaced her died WD Media Player with an RPi2 only a few days ago... If Columbo starts showing the same symptoms, I won't be her favourite grandson anymore ;-)

Turning off acceleration is the workaround for now.

Not at her case. She is near 90 and I don't think she would ever learn the way to switch between the two modes. Without hardware acceleration the CPU usage is near to 90-100% with some movies... Maybe a good solution would be to ask KODI to try to play faulty video files without acceleration.

Sorry to bring it up, but any news about a possible fix of this issue? OpenElec 7.0 Beta 3 still has it, and it also affects Kodi 16.1 on Raspbian Jessie.
