Please reboot the machine and provide the log after a fresh boot - not after suspend

Yeah ... no idea. Nothing known yet and not obvious. For now - exactly one user reporting this issue -> that's you.
Try to fetch ubuntu updates (sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get dist-upgrade)

No sucess!
I'm thinking of clean install ubuntu and then trying a new kodi install
