Linux PulseAudio: Failed to connect context
#1
Per topic I see this message at the beginning of log file.
Sound works but from time to time screen goes blank with audio still playing in background.
After few seconds audio goes off.
At this point I can kill and start kodi but sound never comes back.
I have to restart PC for sound to work again.
As you can imagine it is really annoying.

Can you please provide a Debug Log while your screen goes blank? This logfile is a bit short Wink

And please enable debug logging in system settings before reproducing your issue..

Quote:15:37:05 T:140643840661440 NOTICE: PulseAudio might not be running. Context was not created.

Not an error. Just pulseaudio is not running on your system. ALSA is used.

When your screen goes blank HDMI gets signaled: I am off -> audio stops. Nothing we can do about that as the audio device literally disappears.
First decide what functions / features you expect from a system. Then decide for the hardware. Don't waste your money on crap.

Any half decent AVR would support the TV being off completely. What happens in mine is, when I turn off TV while music is playing, there's a brief moment where audio stops and then resumes on its own. It never not come back permanently.

I imagine if the TV is going off then you wnat to check your TV didnt go off because of some powersaving setting on TV itself and maybe make your issue happen.

Also you may consider aside from sane settings on TV/AVR that if there is an issue with loosing HDMI handshake, that you can permanently load a EDID via xorg.conf or something. Maybe that helps you any.
