Is there any support for Apple TV remotes (or any other remotes) on the raspberry pi, and if there is how do I connect it?

The Apple Remote uses IR right?? Then it should work just fine so long as you get some sort of IR receiver. Flirc is a popular one but you could also just wire up the GPIO pins for IR but that's a bit more DIY ish.

A good choice are the RemotePi Boards from MSL Digital Solutions. Great function, perfect receiver and you will be able to switch the Raspberry on/off.
