WOL help
#1
Hi,

I have a Windows 7 server (running Argus TV and Emby) connected to two Raspberry Pi's via a Switch.

I am trying to change my setup whereby when I turn either Pi on, it will wake up the server automatically.

I have read that this is definitely possible but it just won't work - I have installed the Advanced Wake On Lan add-on but no luck.

Any advice to help get this working would be very much appreciated.

Thanks.

You don't need that addon as since Gotham Kodi can do this by itself:
step 1: make sure you have your sources.xml configured to acces your servershares by IP adress, at least create one share for it
step 2: in Kodi's settings search for an entry 'Wake server on startup' or smthg. like that (not at home right now, so can't check it)

That should be it, all Kodi-devices configured that way would send a WOL to your server at startup - also you will then find a wakeonlan.xml inside your userdata-folder.

More info here: http://kodi.wiki/view/Wake_on_lan
Bye,
Fry
