Problems connecting to Fire Stick and installing Kodi
#1
hi guys,

Relatively new to this so apologies if some of this sounds non technical, went out today and bought my first amazon fire Tv stick, i've plugged it in and set it all up, downloaded the following:

Adbfire - 1.25 (looks different from the versions in videos i've watched as theres not simply a box for IP address it breaks down into individual device profiles, changed one of the names to "Fire Stick" and entered IP and saved, didn't change anything else)

kodi-14.2-Helix-armeabi-v7a.apk (downloaded the current stable release?)

my problem is that when i try to connect it says its connected, yet when i try to install Kodi it shows it installing then when it gets to the end it just restarts over and over in a loop ........ i've seen another thread that details this as a common problem, i followed the advice in there and restarted my mac, closed every program disconnected and reconnected from the fire stick via the buttons in adbfire and still nothing. every time i try and "pull" from the "sdcard" option in the drop down i get a dialogue box saying "Destination Path Missing"

i've also swapped my name in the pic for ***NAME*** just incase anyone wonders if thats my file path Smile

the way i have my device profile set up

the way my adbfire looks

Im using a Macbook Pro with OSX Yosemite up to date to all required updates.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, im quite a patient person but this has me stumped.

cheers guys.

I've installed kodi on a few sticks recently
How long are you waiting on it installing before giving up? Mine sometimes takes up to 10-15 mins - and the green bar loops round a few times.
It does eventually install though so I just thought I'd ask.

Installed Kofi on 2 sticks tonight. No root, not even put the stick on developer mode. Just bought Jodi on Amazon Store and synced account. Then Kodi showed on recent apps. Clicked and installed. Much easier than before.

I had problems using the adb network connect method described everywhere, then decided it's just an android device, enabled developer mode, went back to USB adb. A simple

adb install kodi-xxxxx.apk did it

What did you install, actually? Kofi, Jodi or Kodi? Big Grin

It's Kodi. I hate the auto correct on my phone. Smile
