I use DTS Connect to output all multichannel audio to my 5.1 speakers via spdif. So, applications like MPC-HC can upmix stereo audio to my 5.1 speakers or output true 5.1 audio (without using spdif audio passthrough and respecting the Windows Audio mixer).
However, there seems to be something wrong with Kodi's "Stereo Upmix" via DirectShow audio output. Either Kodi can't detect Windows OS has 5.1 speakers (using only 2.1) or upmix is just plain broken via directshow . If I select WASPI (to bypass Windows mixer), Stero Upmix works. However, I definitely don't want to bypass the Windows mixer; as that also disables volume control and the ability to hear any other Windows sounds.
If this is a bug, where should I report this issue so it gets fixed?
