How comes when adding music to library it is setup differently for movies and TV shows?

Why do we have to manually add it to library and scan it in?

Excuse my ignorance if the answer is obvious or I posted in the wrong area.

The Videos section has had more work done on it over the years, so the Music section is how the Videos section also used to work. It's always been on the agenda to update the Music section to be more closely in line with how things get done in the Videos section, but no one has got round to it yet.

You can set your Music/Library settings to 'update on startup'.
