Rockchip RK3368 SoC (64-bit ARM Cortex A53 Octa-Core) based set-top boxes?

Anyone got an Rockchip RK3368 based set-top box and have tested hardware decoding with Kodi v15 Isengard on it yet? And if so which model did you get and what is your results/expirince with H.264 and HEVC video playback @ 4K resolution in Kodi on it?

Specification on all Rockchip RK3368 should all include Android 5.x (Lollipop), Gigabit Ethernet, and Dual-Band 802.11ac WiFi, but most interestingly I understand is that these will be among the first to support HDMI 2.0 and 2160 @ 50Hz/60Hz with 4:2:0, 4:2:2, or 4:4:4 chroma subsampling output? As some previous Rockchip RK3288 boxes supported 4K@60Hz output too but had limited chroma subsampling support.

Off-topic as this thread is not about RK3288 nor about updates for RK3288 or other older SoCs, nor who trust Rockchip or not.

This thread is only meant to specifically discuss the new Rockchip RK3368 SoC and set-top boxes based on that new chipset.

Thus it is only interesting to know here if autoframerate and hd audio does or can work on a Rockchip RK3368 SoC based box.

Someone from experts in programming will be able to collect to collect the assembly of Kodi optimized under RK3368 from source codes of https://github.com/zidootech/zidoo-kodi-15.1?

That's up to the devs, but I think it is unlikely that this method would be adopted. The goal now is to get away from these SoC-specific codec methods and just use the standard Android media API, MediaCodec. Even Amlogic codec will eventually be removed, if I understand correctly. It's up to Rockchip to support the MediaCodec API if they want Kodi to use their video decoder to its full potential.

It is clear, but I asked not about it at all. I asked who can collect the appendix from source codes

I'm afraid I don't understand the question?

Even if I don't think it is hardware related...

The problem is not the Hardware here but the resources available from the Kodi devs and the actual manpower to support all Android platforms. Its clearly impossible.
And this goes to the bigger problem at the heart of the Google Android platform, that being one of fragmentation across many many Hardware chipsets, all with different implementations.

As Ned has already said the only way forward is the Android media API, MediaCodec. And for that the Hardware sellers and their Firmware devs need to get onboard.
Buy a device with no Firmware support, well you get what you pay for and there is no way the Kodi devs are going to write specific code just for your device. (Suggestion - sell your unsupported device now)

With that in mind only buy from the mainstream Android sellers that will provide such support. You can guarantee the Kodi Sponsors MINIX and Wetek will have their Firmware ducks lined up and address issues quickly. The same with NVIDIA who are actually willing to work with the Kodi devs and provide support.

I will repeat again - In the Android marketplace, the rule you get what you pay for definitely applies.

I think then i completely misunderstood the green row beside RK3368 (actually including my Beelink I68 platform) here: http://kodi.wiki/view/Android_hardware .

That page is made from community input, so it's not always going to be entirely correct, or might be dependent on the situation (better included firmware, as an example).
