Please help...

I have tried downloading 14.2 several times from kodi site. Both ARM and x86. I have tried 15.0 as well.
I have downloaded it on my android box and on a usb from laptop.

It is downloading as a .txt file not apk
Anyone have any ideas?

I can only assume that whatever browser you are using is renaming the file from .apk to .txt. You simply need to rename the file back to .apk. A file manager/explorer should let you rename the file.
