Hello,
I'm running XBMC on windows 7 with openelec. I changed routers and need to update internet connection. However the menu needed to do so in system settings seems to be missing? Please help, I'm new at this!

Not possible!!!

OpenElec is its own Linux distribution. So you either run Kodi/XBMC on Windows OR you run OpenElec, which means Kodi is preinstalled with this distribution. You can't run Kodi on Windows with OpenElec.

For the menu and the setting:

This depends on the skin you are using. Please switch to the default Skin "Confluence" and then the OpenElec settings (not system settings!!!!!) should be on the home menu.

You can rin Openelec in VM running under Win7. Yes, it is possible.

So I suppose there are two fundamental questions here...

1. How exactly is your system configured? (OS/VMs, primary/host OS, guest OS if you are virtualising)

2. What exactly doesn't have an internet connection - the host OS, the guest OS, or just Kodi?
