There are a few 4k capable boxes out there plus PCs that are 4k ready.
Will Kodi 15 final be able to support 4k output?
Thanks

Thats strange, I got a 4k android box which is set to 4k output but in Kodi 15 beta 1 the resolution setting is blacked out.
It also plays back H256 1080 files choppy even though the gpu supports hardware acceleration.

Sounds like an issue with supporting the specific box.

Some Android SOCs might not have 4k support yet. What box do you have?

Its the Himedia Q5 2.
It does have 4k support as its built in player can play back 4k fine.

The HiMedia launcher is running at 4k.
Kodi reports 1080p and is greyed out in settings.

Kodi does not currently have 4k support for Himedia hardware.

PR7240 could solve your issue. It should be part of next v15 beta release

Refresh rate switching is not included. From now on you can install new nightly builds as 4k has been merged
