It would be great if we could set the Kodi Device Name to automatically match the hostname of the box. For example, in Windows entering %COMPUTERNAME% for the Kodi Device Name.

Well it internally does this already. When the device name in the settings matches the word "Kodi" it will use "Kodi (%COMPUTERNAME%)" internally - and thats what you see on other devices for example (when browsing for Kodis UPNP Server, or the AirPlay/AirTunes server and so on).
