My installation of Kodi for seems to miss the realtime video brightness and contrast options that are available in Android version. Have I done some error when installing or are they just disabled for now?

Also, does anyone know if there is any way to adjust the sharpness like in desktop VLC (maybe through some plugin) to boost up the sharpness when using a projector?

No brightness/contrast support. That should be handled by the display.
There is a sharpness option in Isengard. (e.g. in Milhouse build).
