SSID with underscore characters
#1
Hi, newbie here.

I have set up my Raspberry box and everything works fine with Ethernet. I want to go wireless, but have two questions.

1) I have bought a TP-Link AC1200 WiFi dongle. Do I just plug and play, or do I need to load drivers on the accompanied disk? If I do, how do I do that. Note I'm only just getting my head around add-ons, and the whole kodi 'thing'

2) The SSID I want to connect to contains underscore characters. This has never given me any problems with any of the other devices I have connected, but Kodi doesn't seem to like them. I've only just read that SSID's should be just alphanumeric, but is there anyway round this? It will save me from having to rename all of the devices I already have connected.

Thanks in advance
Arjay..

The driver disk won't help.
What distribution? Looks like AC1200 does work with openelec now.

Afraid I don't know about underscores in SSIDs.

Obviously if you have the choice an ethernet setup will be better than wifi.
