AVI File Issues With Kodi
#1
Hey guys, is there a reason a file will have issues in Kodi but will play fine in other software?

I have a set of AVI files that play absolutely fine in Windows Media Player and Media Player Classic, but when I try to play them in Kodi there is an issue where the audio plays fine but the video will stutter to the point where it's unwatchable. It's like the video plays for three seconds then pauses for three seconds then fast forwards three seconds to catch up and then continues to repeat that process.

Any ideas? Thanks I'm advance.

No ideas without a debug_log (wiki)

There is a very handy tool installed as part of the K-Lite Codec Pack called MediaInfo. This tells you all about your AVI file and what is actually on the inside. Not all AVIs are the same.

A stand-alone version for Mediainfo can be got from here:

But be VERY careful during install. Especially if you get something from SourceForge. So much annoying spyware in these installers now you have to take careful note when installing.

Go to the Download page and attempt to avoid the Ad Supported installers.
