I have a log here here

Kodi keeps freezing and unexpectedly quitting out to my desktop. I thought maybe I needed to update to 14.2 from 14.1, sadly the problem still persists. There is no rhyme or reason, it crashes in all plugins and at different times. Anyone else having this issue??

You have the usual problems that being poorly written Banned Addon Rubbish causing issues.

Remove Everything and start afresh:

OSX Finder > Go > Go to Folder > ~/Library/Application Support/

Copy and paste this exactly into Finder, including the squiggle at the start:

Rename the Kodi and XBMC folders and then restart Kodi.

I'm kind of bad at macs so bear with me, when I do the uninstall are there files lingering that I should delete?
