OpenELEC Testbuilds for RaspberryPi (Kodi 16.0)
(2015-11-28, 13:56)MrMagic Wrote: I noticed this too. It only seems to happen when playing a file with HD audio and the 8-channel HD audio decoding option enabled. When I switch to passthrough, playback works again.

Thanks - I can reproduce the issue with these setting.

Quote:Switching from OMX to MMAL also seems to fix the problem, but I'm still preferring OMX, because for some reason when using MMAL I always get intermittent video stuttering when playing 23.976 material.

Do you have "adjust display refresh rate to match video" enabled, "sync playback to display" enabled, "passthrough" disabled and "sync method" set to resample audio? With those settings I get no stutters with 23.976 material and MMAL.
hi,
have a little Problem with build #1127 on RPi2:

I am not able to switch the options in the Menü on a DVD ("Tina Live 2009 (Paris) - play concert / Track Selection / Audio Options are without funktion

All will work on Kodi "Win32" 20151127-3a87b76-master
or on "Android" kodi-20151127-3a87b76-master-armeabi-v7a.apk

the only chance to play this DVD is with fast forward to in Vidio_TS.ifo

#1125 and also older #1120 will not show me the correct Menü.

(I notice in the new build also some Hanging and long buffering on MTV.de Streams )

But...
We have no Problems to play thise last DVD from Tina on OpenElec 6.0 (fresh install)

Thank'X

Harald

You'll need to identify the last working build.
Texture Cache Maintenance Utility: Preload your texture cache for optimal UI performance. Remotely manage media libraries. Purge unused artwork to free up space. Find missing media. Configurable QA check to highlight metadata issues. Aid in diagnosis of library and cache related problems.
Good morning all, I run this on 3 RPI2 units and love it, thank you for your effort

I have a question regarding apps
Just noticed that Pandora app no longer works
I was V14 when I completed the update

In general, do I need to use different repositories, etc. after the update?
Sorry if this has already been asked

Which Pandora add-on are you using? I think pandoki is the currently supported one.
v2.3.2 from Openelec repository, I will look into Pandoki, but I know it worked on v14

Do I need to worry about different repositories (for all apps) due to the update to v16?

Thanks for the quick response

Hi Milhouse,

The last working build is #1001, sorry It escaped my notice.
....later builds would'nt play this DVD9 .

The DVD starts with sound, all options are selectable and the correct infos like DTS are visible.

...for the future i will test some "tricky" DVD "early exercise" in your testbuilds ;-)

Thank You
Harald

I have tried both and it seems to be a login issue, though I can log in/out/back in on my phone?

Probably best to ask on the add-on's forum. Seems to be someone else with a similar issue:

Should have a fix for this for tonight's build.
Confirmed, thanks!

Also, friendly reminder for "Delay after change of refresh rate" missing on Pi:
http://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=...pid2122367
Watched an episode with the usual "in previous episode" at the very start of video and I only heard something like "ous episodes" (and missed that part of video). Setting a higher delay doesn't have any effect, so I believe this has been forgotten.

Normally I don't use sync play back to display, but I just tried it and it seems to work for MMAL, thanks.

Is there any reason not to have that setting?

It enables Pi's audio as an alsa device. This shows up in list of audio output devices in kodi in addition to HDMI/Analogue.
While it largely works, it doesn't work as well as the dedicated HDMI/Analogue output devices so we'd prefer it not to be enabled by default (as users will accidentally enable it and may have problems).
There shouldn't be any issue with you (or other users who need the alsa driver to show up for other uses) enabling it - just don't select the alsa device in Kodi audio settings.

Surprisingly your scaler reports 1080i60 as it's preferred hdmi mode. That is surprising for a device that supports 1080p.

Because of that, the DESKTOP mode that kodi boots into will be 1080i60.
That is undesirable as kodi won't switch to progressive modes from an interlaced mode when playing a video.
As such, changing from DESKTOP to 1080p in system/video settings would be recommended.

But, I've tested with your EDID file and various options and I seem to get audio and 3D modes as expected.

I've added an extra logging line that will be in tonight's build. After updating to that, can you:
change from DESKTOP to 1080p in system/video setting
make sure "adjust display refresh rate to match video" is enabled in video/playback settings.
make sure omxplayer is disabled and MMAL is enabled, "support MVC" is enabled and "Use full HD HDMI modes for 3D" is enabled in video/acceleration settings.
Set "playback mode of stereoscopic 3D videos" to "preferred mode" in video/playback settings.

If you get no audio, then post a debug log, and report output of "tvservice -s" whilst video is playing.
