I had installed an add-on and it looked like an older version and i think i saw a newer version somewhere else, how do i go about either updating
that certain add-on or deleting it to install a newer version? If there is a thread on this could you please direct me into the right section please.

If you installed via a repo, it will update automatically.

If you installed via zip, just install the new one, it will overwrite the old.

If you simply want to delete the addon, go to settings|addons and navigate to the addon concerned and click ok. You'll see an option to delete it.
