I've researched a bit about this, and haven't really come to a conclusion about what suits me. I just want something where i can stream TV channels from in HD, and that's about it. I don't really care about future-proofing/extra features, but a wifi connection is a plus. I've seen a lot of recommendations for the Chromecast, but it is a bit expensive and I don't know how good the "android boxes", usually around £40-50 are. Any help is appreciated!

scaryscar6 do you mean stream or receive? The Wetek OpenElec boxes have Freeview HD (single tuner DVB-T/T2/) or Freesat HD (dual tuner DVB-S2) compatible tuners to allow them to work as Live TV receivers and PVRs (with an external drive added) The Openelec Wetek box is an interesting addition to the usual suspects of Chromebox (and HP 260 G1 in the UK) and Raspberry Pi 2 as a good basic Kodi box. Unless you need Netflix or Amazon Video, I'd not personally recommend Android solutions as they have lots of other compromises (or if not are quite tricky to set up).
Other internet streaming add ons for services like iPlayer (in the UK), and similarly SVT Play (Sweden), NRK Nett TV (Norway) etc. should work in those countries.

Would a Raspberry Pi 2 be good enough for this? ^^

Yep - the HP 260 G1 is a real bargain. Just remember that you'll need a WiFi adaptor and a Displayport to HDMI adaptor if you want to use with with WiFi or a normal TV. Neither are hugely expensive. (I use wired networking on mine so only had to worry about Displayport conversion)
