Random freezes on Windows 10
#1
Using Windows 10 build 10162, Kodi seems to randomly freeze the video. Audio and subs still work. A temporary fix is to fast forward 30 secs and then go back or hit pause then play.

Honestly I'm going back to Windows 8.1 soon because some other issues, so I'm just reporting...

Laptop: Dell Vostro 5470
Intel HD4000 and NVidia GeForce 740M (Kodi uses the Intel one)

Same issue here, though I plan to keep Windows 10. I'll get a log if I get time... seems to happen mostly on x265 videos though.
Windows 11 Pro, Kodi 20, AMD Ryzen 9 5900X, 32gb RAM, nVidia 3080 ti

It happens with x264 here... Never tried x265

Use the keybaord 'o' command and see if the decoding is at threshold. Bet x265 gives a lot of hiccups to borderline systems.

Are you able to upgrade to the RTM build (10240) and see if the behaviour is the same?
Kodi 17.6 on multiple Windows 10 x64 machines with shared MySQL 5.6.43 database. Kodi 18 on Xbox One. Content (music, video, photos) stored on Windows Server 2012 R2 file server and accessed by SMB.

I'm going to try this week.

Windows 10 is using DX12, does it make any difference?

DX12 is just an extension of DX11.

From what I hear Win10 is optimised for apps running DX11/12.

The DX11 build fixed those errors for me with Windows 10 Build 10240 RTM.
