Doing some comparative HEVC tests on my htpc, its old intel e8400 with 2gb mem and no dedicated graphic card.
1080p 24 fps filesize: 4.9gb h264 load: both cores up to 7%, no issues with playback.
1080p 24 fps filesize: 1.4gb h265 HEVC; both cores 84-100%, some frames dropped, though still watchable.
So 1/3 size, better image quality... however needs GPU for decoding I guess... on my desktop no issues with gtx 980.
Any graphic card recommendations that work well with hevc in older systems?
ZBOX-BI320/similar would run that file better? (was considering upgrade but only if this would work with hevc)
