The issue is new, basically 3 or 4 day old issue and currently under investigation for its possible cause.

When you press the power button on remote, Kodi freezes immediately and is unresponsive to further input. OS remains accessible.

Version check addon: Disabled ( Since this is usually the cause for hangs on exit etc.

Only way to actually shutdown system is to drop to tty or via ssh and issue poweroff command.

Kodi (16.0-ALPHA1 Git:2015-07-17-105ee16). Platform: Linux x86 64-bit
Running on Ubuntu minimal 14.04.2 LTS, kernel: Linux x86 64-bit version 3.13.0-57-generic
Start-up method : upstart script

Its not a user permission issue as this is a fully working system before this period.

Reverting back to git reset --hard 5c2df624b78430a3977cd3a4b6dc8ccc16e0d5a1 this issue (and others) is solved.

Just hung again as now usual every day occurrence.

Attached kodi PID to gdb and ran bt and thread apply all bt

Its something wrong happening since the kodi.bin after pressing poweroff on remote is sucking 100% CPU

I am having this problem on all my macs with Kodi since installing Jarvis. Kodi hangs when I click on Exit. Is there some way to resolve this? Thanks.
