Asus Chromebox - Cant get into developer mode
#1
Sad
Hi all, I just got my Asus Chromebox and done the disable write protect by removing the screw, unfortunately I'm having so much trouble getting it into developer mode. I have turned the box of, inserted a clip (I can feel the little button being depressed) I keep the in there then switch on the box and removed the clip. Nothing happens, just sits there with my tv saying no signal. Tried keeping the clip in for a second, for a few seconds, for a millisecond yet all outcomes are the same. Black screen with no tv signal. If i just turn the box on normally it boots ok to the google login page.

Is there something blatantly obvious I'm missing or doing wrong ?

Plug it in a standard monitor, not a tv IMHO. Your TV can't handle the resolution it outputs at that moment, well i think it's the problem as i saw similar ones already.

from the wiki:

Quote:Some TVs/displays are not able to show the developer boot screen due to the resolution it uses (1024x768 @ 60Hz), in which case you'll need to use a different display to complete the initial setup steps.
