BBC Radio I player
#1
Hi,

Is there any way to get the BBC's radio player to work on KODI? I live in the UK and have the BBC's TV I Player working but ever since they split the Radio from the TV I have failed to get the radio player to work. It's the same on my connected TV.

I guess there is a repository out there that contains the BBC radio player but I just cannot find it.

Has anyone had more success?

Where do I need to look?

Thanks in advance.

In case you're still looking, look into the threads for iPlayer 2.7.1 in video addons - there are several ways of getting the live streams for BBC radio, but the facility to play old sessions is pretty much lost now

For Radio 1 create a strm file with this in it:

Code:
http://bbcmedia.ic.llnwd.net/stream/bbcmedia_radio1_mf_p

More links here:

I'm sure there mmust be an official list somewhere

Thanks for the reply all I have had is broken repositories so far, but I can play BBC pod casts which is a bit odd. Playing live and catch-up video works fine, at the moment. The only way I have got any joy with the radio player is via a web browser on a PC. Are there any browsers available for KODI ?

I've got bbc iplayer radio (Nov. 15 version) installed on my Fire TV Box ( mk 1, with v5 software) along with Kodi (15.2).

Everything seems to be working, the only problem (for me) is control. Havn't found any way to operate it using FTV remote, and I guess other TV boxes will be the same, but it works fine with USB mouse - wired or wireless.

On FTV I'm using FireStarter which adds a home key start menu, for quick access to FTV / Kodi / any other android apps. So iplayer radio can be accessed here or from Kodi.

I use codi skin Confluence++ Helix, (like default skin with favourites option in shortcuts) so I can have a button for "BBC iPlayer Radio" on the home screen.

To install you need the bbc radio player android install file. The Nov 2015 file was named uk.co.bbc.android.iplayerradio-37.apk
I downloaded this using "apk downloader" chrome extension. To use this you need your Google (Play) login and a android device ID (from a device compatible with iplayer radio). To get your device id, install a small app called "Device ID" from Google Play, I put on my Nexus7.
Get apk downloader logged in. Then, when you browse to a google play free app, you will also get a download option.
There are other apk downloaders for android, it would save time if they can read the device id.

I used a usb stick to transfer the file to the FTV box, then used ES File Explorer to select it and run install.

Perhaps losts of iplarer radio comments asking Tv box compatibility would get somewhere! Not much needs changing to make it compatible.
