Kodi 15.0 Windows shares not connecting
#1
My windows shares that I use to stream my videos to kodi no longer connect after updating to 15.0 on my Fire TV. I update to Kodi 15.0 using the following:
adb install -r C:\kodi_15.0.apk

It updates successfully, but I lose the functionality to connect to my windows shares.

I then downgrade back to kodi 14.2:
adb install -r -d C:\kodi_14.2.apk

And functionality to connect to my windows shares is restored. Here is a link to the debug log when I attempted to play a file using Kodi 15.0:

What has changed since Kodi 14.2 that could be causing this problem? Thank you for the support

Windows Shares do not work for me either.

Got it to work by using first name instead of email. Weird that it worked fine with email as username for Kodi 14.2 though...

Solved the windows share problem by creating a separate Windows user for Kodi in Windows 10. I used that account for smb access instead of the microsoft account.
You can also enable the guest access to connect. Found this link which explains everything: https://techjourney.net/cannot-connect-t...indows-10/

Not necessary. In Windows 10, for the username, use whatever name Windows uses for your User folder. In my experience, it uses the first five characters of your email address. Once I did that, SMB shares work fine in Kodi 15.
