Based on the feedback I've seen regarding thetvdb.com, I wanted to know if there would be any interest in me developing an open source, self-hosted alternative. The API would be freely accessible, and the site's code would be hosted on Github. I would be willing to pay for the initial (~1 year) hosting of the site. My plan would be to produce the site using a Java backend and an Angular frontend, but I'd be willing to discuss alternatives. If enough interest is shown I can get started and hopefully push an alpha out within the next few weeks.

I'm really pro TMDB, but the data is not as up to date as the TVDB's
And the TVDB team is working on a new site and api. But it's taking em forever, one day they might get it live.
