Lost WMC Guide
#1
So I installed Kodi 15.0 on my production system and all seemed good until I went into live tv -- no EPG and no scheduled recordings. I dumped the TV databases and tried again -- still nothing. Then opened up WMC and found guide expired on the 21st. Did some searching and found out, at least for US ATSC users, MS switched guide service provider from Zap2It to Rovi. I guess I am not the only one to have a failure. I found a blog site WMC guide work around that suggested re-running tv setup. Check that you are getting guide data and try other zip codes iff you aren't getting anything. In my case I just entered my zip code and I was able to get EPG. Then WMC did a channel scan. To be on the safe side I shut down XMC server and re-started it, and also cleared the data on my Kodi install.

That seems to have fixed it, though I lost my timers in Kodi.

Is there anything else I should do in the WMC server?

There shouldn't be anything else to do, Swmc is agnostic about where the original data comes from and doesn't retain any database info itself. When you say you lost your 'timers in kodi', you really mean you lost all your wmc timers, right? Because kodi/swmc doesn't retain timers either.

Right about timers. As it turns out, about half of the channels now in WMC thanks to "Rovi" are wrong so the EPG/timers are only marginally useful. I found an MS site that said to post "feedback" to some other MS (Connect) site which I did. Don't hold much hope for MS to get a fix but you never know.

I think you can change the channel for a scheduled series recording in WMC. Most of mine are set to HD Preferred I think. That should allow you to keep the timer.
