Custom Background bad quality/looks pixilated
#1
Hi,

first of all, thank you for this killer Kodi skin. My problem are somewhat ugly looking backgrounds compared to the fan made ones that are automatically downloaded. Even though my custom ones are quite decent when viewed in any other program and are 1920x1080 pixels in size.

Thank you in advance!

Can you post an example screenshot? I use the advanced setting <imageres>1080</imageres>. Not sure if this would help in your case.

Thanks for the fast reply. I tried to place he Advancedsettings.xml in my folder, but no effect - given I'm quite the noob I may not have done it right Big Grin
In the second pic taken straight from kodi you can see the bad quality/aliasing.

Take a look at the wiki instructions and be sure to put it in your userdata folder. Kodi 16 will include more image scaling options that will likely improve image quality as well.

Hello may i ask how u got it Fixed?

I have a simmilar Problem with custom Background but only when i use Amber Skin.

On Confluence everything works Fine Custom backgrounds stay sharp and dont get Pixelated.

But when i use Amber skin the same Picture looks very bad when i select custom Background via Settings/Backgrounds on Kodi Menü.

The Strange things is when i replace the Standart Backgrounds located in AppData\Roaming\Kodi\addons\skin.amber with my custom Backgroud and rename it the Picture dont get Pixelated
but i dont want to manually move and rename the Pictures everytime when there is a Setting in the Kodi Menü (wich doesnt work) Sad

Any clues ? I tryed that method with Advancedsettings.xml but i has no effect

Also my Android Version of Kodi with Amber doesnt have this Problem...
only my Windows7 Pc wich i want to setup now Huh
