I understand The Atom D2550 is very inferior to Haswell 2957U but how does the discrete Nvidia Geforce 610M compare to Intel HD graphic?
looking around this seems like end of line product.
would this be as good as HP 260 G1 in terms of graphics performance?

The D2550 is a very weak CPU. Passmark of 664, single threaded of 295.
That compares with a Passmark of 1509, single threaded 815 for the 2957U. The Haswell Celeron is more than twice as fast.

The nVidia graphics will mitigate this a bit, but the Intel GPU does a pretty good job. The advantages over the HP 260 G1 would be the HDMI output, removing the need for a £5 DP->HDMI converter, built in WiFi, and a higher capacity, but slower 320GB 5400rpm HDD vs a much faster 32GB M2 SSD.
