Flaky Remote for RP/OSMC/KODI
#1
Howdy. I'm running OSMC on a Raspberry Pi, with a FLIRC connected via a powered external USB hub. I have a programmable Harmony Remote that kinda works -- I set it up using Windows Media Center commands, and the directional arrows and select/OK functions work fine for navigating thru the menu and so forth, but the transport buttons (play, pause, stop, record, FF, RW) and numbers do not.

I've searched the message boards and wiki but not seeing this particular situation addressed, any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

I use Kodi. I have a RPi1, Flirc, AVR and I use the AVR remote control. It's working fine, only a new bug,
see http://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=...pid2070294

Did you program you Flirc with the keyboard short-cut? Is it working with the Flirc appli?

Thanks for the response MrNice. Just to clarify, I am not running OpenElec and I am connecting to a full XBMC instance on a dedicated Win7 PC that functions as a media server.

No, I did not program Flirc or download any keymaps -- I admit to bein a noob so didn't know I needed to do that (or how to).

Which one is it? There's a big difference. Assuming it's a Pi with OSMC did you select RC6 MCE remote in MyOSMC remote tab?
If I have been of help, please add to my reputation as a way of saying thanks, it's free.

Thanks for the response.

On the Pi, I'm running OSMC and connecting as a client to the full XBMC v13 instance on the stand-alone Win7 PC to pull Live TV via ServerWMC.

Yep I've selected RC6 MCE in MyOSMC; interestingly, I have a keyboard connected via USB and I can enter digits to change channels and use keyboard commands as well.

Sounds like a Flirc programming problem, have you tried the Flirc on a different pc?

You can tail the Kodi debug log (wiki) and see what Kodi sees
Code:
sudo tail -f /home/osmc/.kodi/temp/kodi.log

I don't think there is a problem; Flirc need to be programmed before using it.
dshorrosh didn't do that, so it's not working... as expected

Flirc simulate a USB keyboard, I am not sure this have to be done. Is it not only with IR receiver on the GPIO?

Anyway, dshorrosh first go to
http://forum.flirc.tv/
and
https://flirc.tv/downloads
and program your Flirc.
