Intel HD 6000 driver?
#1
hey peeps

long time xbmc/kodi user

love your work!

just got a Intel NUC5CPYH NUC and am trying to get kodibuntu running on it but after an install i get the error message "kodi needs hardware accelerated opengl rendering" now i know this is usually caused by missing drivers.

i have run:
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install
sudo apt-get upgrade

all to no aid

can some one point me in the right direction?

see 1) from http://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=231955
you'll need at least my mesa and vaapi PPA. Probably also a newer kernel.

You need the newer kernel in any case ... the greater the better. See post 2 in the thread wsnipex referenced.
First decide what functions / features you expect from a system. Then decide for the hardware. Don't waste your money on crap.

Hi!
I have purchased the exact NUC as you. Im having issues with wifi and display. Would you please be able to outline how you have successfully got yours working?

I have tried an update, upgrade, distro upgrade
Tried updating kernel with no success
Tried updating the do-release with no success

Any info would be so helpful
