ServerWMC errors possibly disabling Kodi PVR option?
#1
I have two clients (one Windows and one Android) that have both stopped displaying the LiveTV option on the main menu since I made some back-end (Windows Media Centre) hardware changes (I disabled an old tuner). I have tried re-installing ServerWMC, disabling/re-enabling the add-on, disabling/re-enabling Live TV, and many other approaches. None work, even though when I disable/re-enable Live TV I see the "PVR Manager starting up" dialogue at top right of screen briefly. The only clues in the log seem to be these:

11:31:53 T:2256 ERROR: AddOnLog: PVR WMC Client: Using ServerWMC MAC address from custom addondata '00:24:8C:37:11:18'
11:31:53 T:8468 ERROR: PVR - ADDON::CAddonCallbacksPVR:TongueVRTransferChannelGroupMember - cannot find group 'Most Viewed' or channel '319295'

Could these errors be the root cause of the issue?

Try clearing pvr and Epg databases in Kodi settings menus. Perhaps it's holding onto a previous group ID that doesn't exist in WMC anymore

If TV shows up, go into recordings and open the side bar on the left. Make sure under view settings you have Group: All Channels.

Other than that, try rebooting the PC, starting ServerWMC and watching liveTV and post the full ServerWMC log to pastebin and put a link here.

When you see "If TV shows up", do you mean "If the Live TV option appears on the main menu"? Because that is the exact problem I described - that the Live TV option has vanished and I can't get it back.

When you suggest watching Live TV, where are you suggesting I do that? If from the Kodi client, then that isn't possible because the Live TV option has vanished.

I think we need to see the logs too, so start swmc then kodi. Try to enable live-tv in kodi. After that fails,.post both the kodi log and the swmc log on pastebin.com and put a link them here.

Thanks all, sorry for not getting onto this earlier. Finally, here are the logs after restarting ServerWMC and Kodi in that order.

What tv tuners do you have installed? The serverwmc log lists a number of devices and has lots of errors regarding one of them (winfast dtv).

I'd suggest to pick perform WMC tuner setup/channel scan again, then restart ServerWMC and clear the pvr and Epg databases in Kodi, and see if things are any better

If nothing else it will clear heaps of errors from your log file which are makings it difficult to spot any other problems at the moment

PS your Kodi log isn't set to debug level so it doesn't contain the required detail to see what's happening on the Kodi side

Another thing that came to my mind what to check your channel sources in WMC under tasks -> settings -> TV -> guide -> Edit Channels. Click a channel name, then edit sources. Make sure only the active tuners are selected in the list of sources.
