Win Kodi doesn't play videos out of database
#1
Hi all!

This is my problem:
Since installing Kodi 15.0. I have a problem to play movies in DVD-format out of the database (via Movie - Title - "The Movie")
I face this problem only by movies in DVD-format ( '.ifo and some *.vob files),
mkv-files are perfectly played.

The funny thing is, when i try to play the movie via Videos - Files - "The Movie" (right-click)-Play everything goes well and the movie is shown.

And also on my Linux-HTPC is everything working just perfect.

So what could be the problem?

I already tried to:
-) use the old database, form Kodi 14
-) rebuild a new database in the old user-folder
-) rebuild the user-folder totaly
-) re-installed Kodi 15.0
-) installed Kodi 15.1

Does anybody have an idea, where to look?

Kodi is running on my Windows 7 PC.

Provide a Debug Log ... as always, we don't have crystal balls.
First decide what functions / features you expect from a system. Then decide for the hardware. Don't waste your money on crap.

Yes of course!
A log-file would be good!

kodi 01.log: try (successful) to play a movie in mkv format. ()
kodi 02.log: try (without success) to play a movie (DVD-format), via MOVIES
kodi 03.log: try (successful) to play the same DVD-format movie, but via VIDEO - Files - Movie-play

Sorry for that!

Update:

as can be seen in the log file, i access the video storage via NFS protocol.

by setting the access to SAMBA share, the videos are shown.

So if there is no other solution or reason, i will stay by SAMBA.

But anyway, it seems funny for me, that showing a movie is working the one way, but not working the other way.

Did you combine split video files (enabled) in video settings?
I really have no idea what I am talking about. Proceed with caution. I confuse easily. And drink. A lot.

Seems like it would be a NFS permissions issue somewhere. Anyways, if you got it working via samba and you're happy, then all is well.
