Seek .ts file while record?
#1
I often record a tv channel and while this i'm watching it. Now to skip adds i have always to "stop" and restart the file again and seek manually the correct position (rememeber time code..)
Are there some tricks to refresh the file duration while playback? It would be great!
It's while playing SD and HD files. I have a Raspberry 2 with a MPEG-2 license.

I just have a bigstepforward set to 4 minutes - which is a good compromise ad skip value.
You need an advancedsettings.xml created, and to map key(s) to appropriate items.
There is a wiki entry covering advancedsettings, and otherscovering key mappings.

The "skip" is not the problem. I've set key up/down to +/- 10 minutes, which fits well in germany...
But the problem is the length of the whole record.
I try explain another way: Record starts at 20h. At 20:30 i begin to watch. Advertisement is from 20:25-20:35.
So after 25min watching i can not skip to 35min because the length of the record is as it was at the beginning: 30 min.

So the "fix" is to watch 25min, hot "stop", restart and jump to 35 min (whole length is at this moment 55min)

This is a general problem with Kodi/PVR. Best to read and post here: http://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=139793
