Even if they don't make code changes, not allowing self-compiled versions of Kodi to run on their hardware violates GPL v3, which they're using unless they're going out of their way to use the older SAMBA library.

They are using Helix so that doesn;t seem to apply.
GPLv2 still requires the oopen sourcing of the code upon request by a buyer though.
