Basically my Kodi seems to crash randomly (usually when left inactive) and i get a whole lot of these errors shouting at me.

Everything except Kodi seems to still be running (can access Plex from my computer in the next room etc) but the TV is a blank
screen (the openbox desktop setup as per the instructions in the Steam Big Picture addon). I can go grab a mouse and right click
and open Kodi back up and all is well with the world again. However this is obviously not desirable.

Taking a shot in the dark id say it looks like something with my video card driver? I am currently running whichever driver Isenguard came
with (it seems to work and i have not played any big games from steam yet). I did edit the nvidia xorg file to stop openbox from going to sleep
but i don't think that's it.

dpkg -l | grep nvidia:

I don't think it is : I just got the same freeze when playing a video after exiting sleep mode, and the exact same errors in the log.
And I'm only using the integrated video in my core I5 processor, not a discrete graphic like you.

I did the upgrade from 15.0 to 15.1 yesterday, never had this sort of screen freeze before.

Code:
grep -i "intel" /var/log/Xorg.0.log |grep -i driver

Hrmm.. well that may throw my theory out the window...

Since we seem to have stumped everybody else with these errors i guess we have to diagnose ourselves.. By any
chance do you use Tvheadend? something i forgot to mention in my original post is i do.

The big difference here is that i never seem to catch this error when it actually happens.. Usually my parents use the actual
TV and i have observed them leaving the 'live tv' open and turning the actual TV off from its remote (when they go to bed and such)

It might run for many hours or minutes after that.. It may or may not be related that Live TV might still be running at the time. I simply
don't know because everything i use works eg: i can still connect to Plex (which is the closest to "watching TV" i get).
It's only because they let me know that in the mornings the TV was blank that i know something is not working.

I also had this problem in Isenguard 15.0

Curious that you have the problem when waking from sleep mode. And i changed the xorg settings to disable sleep.. hrmm.. Don't know yet.

I do, but I don't think it's related, as there wasn't any tvhts entry in the log, and I had the freeze when exiting the video sleep mode, followed by navigating in the UI to launch a local video file.
Also, my remote is independant with her own usb receiver, so no relation with the tuner managed by tvheadend

On the other hand, I didn't had this problem with 15.0. If it occurs another time, I'll switch the symlink to run it instead, and see what happens (I always keep the previous version on disk for a while)

For what it's worth I'm having the same issue. The system performs well and is stable for a day, an hour, 3 days, then locks-up during playback with the same errors in the log as you referenced. I had the same problem on 15.0 and the latest build. Running Ubuntu 14.04 LTS, TVheadend (3.9.2827) with the tuner and server on another virtual machine. All of the other back-end systems are also on separate VMs so nothing is running on this box except Kodi.

Doing CIFs mounts to a separate NAS for content.

Same issue here in Isengard, Ubuntu 15.04 (15.1~git20150816.1137-final-0vivid), does anyone know if upgrading Kodi to any available alpha or beta version is a valid workarround?

Post an uncut Debug Log and the problem would already be solved - you directly cut out the important part ...
First decide what functions / features you expect from a system. Then decide for the hardware. Don't waste your money on crap.

Sorry man, Didn't know this. Just tried to give you what i thought was the relevant information without a huge load of log to sift through.

Trouble is i can't personally give you the log file anymore you need.. I moved over to a Raspberry Pi based system for the media server.
Just made sense for my particular situation. Which meant switching over to OpenElec and i haven't had any problems to report since.

Hopefully someone else has the log file still.. I know i was unsuccessful in finding a fix
