I'm using windows 10 and Kodi 15.1 things have been working fine until this morning. I went to open Kodi but I keep getting a pop up that says Kodi: Error ERROR: Unable to create application. exiting.

I've tried rerunning the installer and restarting my computer with nothing working. I would try uninstalling it but I'm afraid of losing all my settings and smart menues which were a pain to figure out.

Anybody have an idea what I can do, what do I need to do to keep my settings?

I am having the exact same issue. Before this started happening my laptop would just crash and I was getting an error message saying DPC_watchdog_violation and it would restart. I don't know if Kodi had anything to do with this but my laptop didn't start doing this until after I installed windows 10 and then shortly after installing Kodi.

All I need is to know what folders I should make a copy of so I can uninstall Kodi and try reinstalling it to see if that fixes what ever issue I'm having.
