DLNA music index
#1
I was hoping to use the the json or built in functions (doesn't particularly matter the methodology at this point) to manipulate the player to play back files on kodi, I access my music via DLNA/UPnP and I had thought that maybe it was indexed same as filesystem, but it appears that is not the case. I confirmed by loading up sqlite3 and just doing select * from artists; etc... and the tables are all empty. Which makes sense, Kodi just renders the DLNA output. I just wanted to confirm this?

Assuming this is the case. I could just drop my music on a SAMBA share and kodi could access it that way over the network, would the music then be properly indexed and accessible to me?

Thanks!
