List view

Once again I'd like to thank you for your skin! If you offer a donation link or paypal, I'll send you a little symbol of my appreciation.

I am curious about one feature. Using List view you have the "flying thumbnails" which is a nice feature that most people probably love, but I'm curious if you could have another "view" that doesn't have that. The "problem" with it is that is uses ALL thumbnails, rather than thumbs appropriate for the list your viewing. For example, when my daughter is on a list of her shows, she starts seeing "flying thumbnails" of movies that she has never seen and wouldn't want to watch, or ones that she now really wants to watch despite the fact we only have time for a short tv show.

Its not a major problem (i.e. no porn), but I would prefer to turn off that feature because I get tired of answering "Whats that" or explaining she can't watch "(name of princess) movie" right now. (out of sight, out of mind).

I'm going to try giving her one of the other views now that I've got all her playlists set up (thanks to "special favourites" addon) complete with thumbs, but I hope you'll consider my "feature request" anyway, because I'm sure some people using your skin might feel

Anyway, thanks again!

scsmith1964, thank you for the offer, but to be honest you are the first person to offer a donation. Now if you have a rich uncle who owns SiliconDust and has a spare HDHomerun going begging, by all means send it my way Wink I could probably do with one of these to help with skinning the PVR section of Kodi, otherwise everything is good.

I was wondering when someone would notice the new feature. What is being shown if you look carefully is the 20 most recently added movies or TV shows added to you library. As I feel there are too many settings for my skin now, I added a hidden setting (can't change it from within the skin, but it will survive a skin update) that you can change to return this view to the old behavior (no flying thumbnails). If you load your /userdata/guisettings.xml into a text editor and search for the following line

PHP Code:
<setting type="bool" name="skin.apptv.lowspec-system">false</setting

and change the false to true and you will no longer see the flying thumbnails. Hope this helps.

Wyrm (AppTV)
If required a FULL debug log can now be submitted from the skin in settings->skin settings->support. Or follow instructions here if you can't access skin settings.

Thanks!

I think it's a neat feature, but it would be better (although maybe impossible), if it could find thumbnails for items in the current selection. But, its a nice touch to a great skin!! keep up the good work!
