Channel could not be played
#1
Hi there,
I've been using Kodi with MediaPortal for a few months now. Until recently, all TV Channels could be accessed without any problems. Recently though, when I try to switch to some channels I get a message saying that the Channel could not be played and to check the logs, see http://xbmclogs.com/p4mknafqc

The channels that won't play seems to vary. i.e. I was watching BBC1 fine this morning, but now it won't play, but I can watch other channels, such as ITV1 fine.

Please help

Thanks

Do the channels work if you use MediaPortal as a front end?

Is it possible that the channels have 'moved'? A re-tune might help (although I think this is unlikely).

Have you updated anything? You don't say what platform you are using for client, or which version of Kodi.

Hi,
Update:
I did try checking the channels worked through MediaPortal direct and they were fine

I am using TV Addons - TVMC 14.2

After a bit of playing around I disabled the Webserver option and now everything appears to be working fine! Why is thisHuh Does this mean I won't be able to enable it in the future?

Well, according to the posted log, it is the TV Server that could not tune the channel and it did not know why *UnknownError*, so difficult for us to guess if it is indeed caused by the webserver.
I'm seeing similar UnknownError messages sometimes when my PC comes back from Hibernate. A restart of the TVServer always fixes them for me.

Could not start the timeshift for channel uid=79. Reason: [ERROR]: TVServer answer: UnknownError
