It seems that recently if I try to rewind live TV the picture just pauses on the frame where I started rewinding and the time bar in the OSD doesn't move at all. So there is no feedback that a rewind is happening. When I hit play it jumps to wherever it rewound to, so rewind itself is working, but the display is not. I'm pretty sure this was working normally before.

I'm on 15.1 as of now.

There is little chance we could be causing this in swmc or addon. But make sure you aren't using urls instead of smb paths for kodi (see http service tab). Do you have this problem when playing recorded tv?

Confirmed using SMB.

The issue happens with fully recorded shows as well as live. Fast forward works fine. I don't know when this started, If I get a chance I'm going to try from another system and see if it is an issue, and then confirm if I downgrade to v14.

Same here. Kodi 15.1, Windows7, WMC back and front ends.

You can't rewind wtv files either? I will check this out, but if this is the case then it needs to be reported as a kodi bug.

You can rewind, but there is no playback while rewinding. The screen just looks paused and the time on the display doesn't change. Once you hit play it jumps back to where rewind took you.

I currently have kodi 14 loaded and it previews on rewind. I will try to test kodi 15 this evening. Assuming I get the same as you, this needs to be reported as a kodi bug, our stuff doesn't have any effect on this.

Yeah I get the same thing in isengard 15.1. Then I found this thread:

if you follow it, you find that in windows if you turn of hardware acceleration DXVA2, rewind preview starts working again - and I confirmed that it did for me too. Someone should see if it has been fixed in the nightlies, and if not report it in the same thread.

Confirmed with 15.2 RC and with 16 monthly.

I see you replied in the other thread and got responses.

I posted this in the linked thread too, but it looks like the fix was merged with the master branch 3 days ago. Has anyone tested with the latest nightlies?

Woot! 15.2 RC2 working here too. Rewind and FF preview issues much much better.
