v15 Best video quality?
#1
Hi,

I've seen other posts but they were quite old and the world may have moved on.

Firstly, apart from music videos, I don't download video. All video (mostly Blu-Ray) is bought and ripped using AnyDVD and TSMuxer to remove unwanted streams. Results are stored on NAS's and played via Kodi 15.x on an i7 PC with a Nvidia GTX960 (I know, overkill but the processor was surplus and the 960 was to future proof 4K). This is then passed to a Denon 9.2 receiver and finally to a 65" 4k OLED.

Point being, I want as light touch (processing wise) as possible. With audio, it's easy using passthrough. But what about video? I've read DSPlayer is better for quality, but then people complicated the discussion with which was better at processing. I want as little processing as possible (e.g. scaling, interlacing) as the downstream devices can deal with this. Any advice?

Thanks in advance.

So just use normal Kodi.

So normal Kodi i.e. non-LAV filters etc., will introduce less image processing.

Thanks.
